Success By 6®Helping Mothers Have Healthy BabiesProgram OverviewSuccess By 6 ® is an initiative funded through the United Way of Central Maryland and managed by the local management Board, the Family League of Baltimore City. This initiative strives to meet three goals: that children are born healthy, that children live in safe and nurturing environments, and that children enter school ready to learn. Through financial support with home visiting to improve birth outcomes, to collaborative membership of community and service organizations, efforts and events are held that address these goals. Improving the following indicators helps to reach these goals: infant mortality, preterm birth, low birth weight, childhood accidents and injuries; childhood abuse and neglect, and early literacy and school readiness. The Success By 6 initiative utilizes both a case management and a community collaborative structure to work individually with families and to work collectively with the community to bring about the desired outcomes. The collaborative meets monthly and anyone interested in furthering the goals of Success By 6 is invited to attend. For more information about Success By 6 call Imani Williams-El at 410-675-2125.
