Health Tests & Screenings

Helping Mothers Have Healthy Babies

Program Overview

The following health tests and screenings are performed - at no charge to clients - in home and at Healthy Start locations:

  • Pregnancy Tests
    Any woman in the community may request a pregnancy test.

  • Chlamydia Tests
    All clients are tested upon enrollment into the Healthy Start program.

  • Gonorrhea Tests
    All clients are tested upon enrollment into the Healthy Start program.

  • Syphilis Tests
    All clients are tested upon enrollment into the Healthy Start program.

  • Bacterial Vaginosis
    Tested by appointment only with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

  • HIV Testing and Counseling
    HIV testing and counseling is available to any person in the community. In home testing is also available.

  • Depression Screening
    Every client that is 17 years and older enrolled into Healthy Start receives a depression screening.

  • Asthma Screening
    Every client enrolled into Healthy Start receives an asthma screening.

  • Well Woman Care
    Women or Men residing in the community without health insurance are able to receive free physical examinations by appointment with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner.
