What is Shaken
Baby Syndrome? Shaken Baby Syndrome is a form of inflected head
trauma. Unlike other forms of inflicted head trauma, it results from
injuries caused by someone vigorously shaking an infant. Shaken Baby
Syndrome often causes irreversible damage.

Healthy Start Receives NICHD Funding
The
National Institute of Child Health and Human Development has awarded a 5 year grant to Healthy
Start to intensely investigate family functioning around health issues that include looking
at stress and allostatic load, family resiliency, and systems barriers that

On September 20, 2007, Healthy Start held a press
conference to release the client very low birth weight which meets the Surgeon
General’s goal in Healthy People 2010 of .9% of live births.
